Facts about the Brazilian Congress of Psychiatry (BCP)

The Brazilian Congress of Psychiatry has been organized and promoted since 1970 by the Brazilian Association of Psychiatry and seen international repercussion, becoming the largest annual psychiatric gathering in Latin America and the third largest in the world.

The Brazilian Congress of Psychiatry, which is held annually, is considered a reference for psychiatry in Brazil and Latin America. The Congress provides up to date professional information for more than 5.500 delegates and, year by year, the number of participants originating from many European countries and North America has been increasing considerably.

In 2011, the Brazilian Association of Psychiatry is coordinating and promoting the 29th BCP which will be held at the Riocentro Exhibition and Convention Center, Rio de Janeiro, from 2nd of November through 5th of November. Its Scientific Program gathers more than 140 scientific activitie during the four-day Congress duration and from the total of registered participants in scientific activities, yearly around 85% are doctors.

The Organizing Committee and Scientific Committees are concluding the logistics of this year’s Congress which is anticipated to be the largest ever. This year, the Scientific Program will present the latest themes, clinical updates, more than 50 Round Tables, Symposia, 20 different courses, 14 conferences with distinguished professionals in Psychiatry. The Congress will also provide a parallel exhibition, gathering Brazilian pharmaceutical industry representatives, during the four-day event.
